did I mention...

that i luurve christmas. everything about it. the shopping. the colours. the magic. the fact that as a christian we recognise the ultimate gift and then extend it to everyone we care about. and to perhaps a few that we don't even know.

i've been so relaxed and happy. my husband keeps telling me that he likes "holiday donna". i think my kids prefer 'holiday mum' as well. lol.

bella was busy today. busy decorating. busy doing nothing much and asking lots of questions that i often said 'yeah' to because i was in the middle of something. i'm pretty sure there is no sticky tape left anywhere in the house. or bluetac. or ribbon. but that's ok. I'm 'holiday donna'! :)

this is what bella came up with in her room.

how adorable is she!? speaking of decorating, the star on the left-hand-side of the below pic is one of my little creations. we didn't have a star for the top of our new tree, so i made this with some scrap bits and pieces and a little heavy duty cardstock. if you'd like the details, shoot me an email.

molly seems to be making a habit of falling asleep right in the midst of mischief. little does she know she gets caught every single time, but she's so damn cute, who could tell her off?!

and... another pic of the tree. thought i'd share this as it's a shot perhaps you haven't thought of yourself. try lying on the floor and looking up at your tree - or if you have live view on your camera, you could just hold it there. lol. gives a whole new perspective i think.

we're all totally excited that my sister and her husband are coming to stay for christmas. i'm so happy that i get to wake up christmas morning with my big sister under the same roof. the girls are equally - no, even more excited at that prospect. i have a feeling my sister will be woken before my husband and i on christmas day.

bella also helped me put the finishing touches on our spare room for my sister. right down to the specially folded hotel-style towels and the paper chain decorating the bed head. for the paper chain we simple raided my scrap paper drawer and cut the strips into fairly equal sizes. kept bella busy for about a half day and it looks so pretty and colourful. i wonder how uncle joe will feel about it! lol.

tonight, the kids get to stay up. christmas lights. candles. quilts. pillows. hot chocolate and a christmas movie on t.v.! can't wait. christmas eve we're making real eggnog and a ginger bread house. so much to look forward to over the next few days. can you tell i love christmas? it's a little obvious huh?!

well - that's it. my last post before christmas. i truly hope that all of you that are my friends and all of you who just pop by for a look-see every so often, have the best and merriest of christmases ever. thanks for all you love, encouragement and support over the year. i can see this year out feeling very happy & completely fulfilled in all aspects of my life - including scrapbooking and photography and in my family life, of course.

merry christmas!

Merry Christmas to you and your beautiful family 'holiday Donna' lol.
I just LOVE Bella's decorating...she is one clever little girl.
I know I go on about it, but i just love how light your photos are...each one is perfect!
Do you remember me asking you awhile back about which camera you would recommend? (sp) Well...i *think* Mathew has me a Nikon for Christmas. I won't bet my life on it, but i would think about betting my left arm on it...lol.
I guess I'll see soon enough hey.
Have a very Merr Christmas Donna and a safe and happy new year. We will have to try to meet sometime in 2008!

Hi Donna....just wanted to let you know my exciting christmas present that my lovely husband surprised me with on Christmas Day ... a DSLR, Canon EOS 400D. My jaw nearly dropped to the ground, not only the fact that he bought it (I'd actually stopped whining about the fact that I wanted one about 6 months ago) but that he got the exact one I would have bought (I currently have a Canon Powershot S3IS) so I'm stoked! Unfortuntely he neglected to get a memory card, he thought the one for my camera would fit but he didn't count on it needing a CF card! So I'm practicing clicking away and quickly looking at the image before it disappears into nothingness... fun all the same, so long as I don't get that 'perfect shot'!!

Hope you had a wonderful christmas, ours was lovely and the kids had a wonderful time. Happy New Year and look forward to seeing some more layouts and photography tips (either photo taking or photoshop) in the new year!

    Regards
    Melanie Halton
